Watermelon Pictures To Provide Healthcare Workers Free Tickets To ‘American Doctor’ Screenings

Deadline · 3 hours ago

Watermelon Pictures is offering free tickets to healthcare workers for select screenings of "American Doctor," a documentary about three US physicians who volunteered to treat severely wounded Palestinian children in Gaza. The offer comes as the film, directed by Poh Si Teng, expands into more cities following a strong opening weekend at New York's Angelika cinema, where it grossed $41,100.

Doctors, nurses, physician assistants, EMTs and medical students can register for complimentary tickets via Watermelon's sign-up form, with free screenings scheduled in Los Angeles on Sunday at 1pm and in Chicago the following Wednesday at 6:30pm. The film has already picked up several honours, including the Tom Rankin Audience Award at the Full Frame festival and awards at Salem Film Fest, Thessaloniki International Documentary Festival and CPH: DOX, and it premiered earlier at Sundance.
