Waylon Jennings, the country music legend who died in 2002, will receive a posthumous star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame as part of its 2027 class. The announcement was shared by his son, Shooter Jennings, who credited the Walk of Fame's Hollywood Chamber, a family friend and his wife for helping secure the honour, calling it a proud moment for the family.

Jennings is one of 32 individuals named to the 2027 class, which spans categories including recording, radio, motion pictures, television, live performance, sports and entertainment. Fellow recording honourees include Karol G, David Guetta, The Ramones, Sia, Linkin Park and Lil Wayne, while other notable names include Kate Hudson, Lisa Kudrow and Nicole Scherzinger. Walk of Fame Selection Chairman Peter Roth praised the class for their lasting impact on audiences worldwide, though no dates have yet been set for the star ceremonies.
