Australian fashion designer Wayne Cooper has put his marital estate in the Byron Bay hinterland up for sale while facing fresh domestic violence and drug charges linked to his second wife, Elizabeth Adams. Cooper, 63, is barred from approaching or contacting Ms Adams, whom he has previously admitted assaulting, and the case adds to a near two-decade pattern of domestic violence allegations against him that has also cost him a long-standing retail contract.

The five-bedroom, five-bathroom property at Myocum, held solely in Cooper's name, features a private cinema, parking for ten cars, a 15-metre pool and a championship tennis court, with marketing material still displaying wedding photos of the now-estranged couple. Cooper and Adams jointly bought the 3.77-hectare estate for just over $5 million in 2022, though it emerged his first wife, Sarah Marsh, never lived there; Cooper had earlier faced (and had dismissed) assault charges relating to Marsh, following a 25-year marriage that ended acrimoniously, and previously received a good behaviour bond in 2008 for assaulting her. He has said the negative publicity cost him his 30-year contract with retailer Myer.
