The Images Vevey photography biennale, now in its 10th edition, has transformed public spaces across the Swiss lakeside town of Vevey with 50 free installations from 21 countries running from 5 to 27 September 2026. This year's theme, "We Are Family", pays tribute to renowned photographer Martin Parr, who died at the end of last year and had been a longtime participant in the festival, with a six-storey portrait of him by Sian Davey serving as the event's centrepiece.

The Guardian's global head of photography, Fiona Shields, highlights several standout projects exploring family bonds, love and loss. These include Barbara Davatz's three-decade study of couples' evolving relationships since 1982, Martina Bacigalupo's joyful decade-long correspondence with her former nanny Chiou Taur Wu documenting the latter's late-life reinvention after retiring to Taiwan, and Karolina Wojtas's exploration of sibling rivalry following her brother's birth when she was 13.
