A Delta Air Lines flight from Minneapolis to Orlando was forced to return to the airport shortly after take-off on 31 August after a reported medical emergency involving one of the pilots. Delta Flight 1208 landed safely back at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, with the crew declaring an emergency to secure priority handling from air traffic control after warning of a "potential pilot incapacitation." The airline said it followed established safety procedures and prioritised supporting the pilot and passengers.

The Boeing 757-300 was carrying 178 passengers and seven crew members and had been airborne for only around four minutes before the crew requested to turn back. Delta arranged a replacement flight crew, and the aircraft continued on to Orlando later the same evening. The incident follows another recent in-flight scare in which four flight attendants aboard a Frontier Airlines service from Cleveland to Fort Lauderdale fell ill with headaches and nausea, though that plane also landed safely and the cause remains unknown.
