- The club sit eighth, six points off the Championship lead.
- Mark Noble and others will take temporary charge.

## Summary

West Ham United have sacked head coach Nuno Espirito Santo after a poor start to their Championship campaign. The club, expected to challenge for automatic promotion after relegation from the Premier League, have fallen to eighth, prompting the board to say a change was needed to keep its objectives on track.

Nuno had been in charge since September 2025; assistant head coach Rui Pedro Silva and goalkeeping coach Rui Barbosa have also left. West Ham have won two of their last six matches and lost consecutive home games, 3-2 to Southampton and 3-1 to West Brom, dropping from second place to six points behind leaders Middlesbrough. Mark Noble, Steve Potts and Gerard Prenderville will oversee Wednesday’s trip to Cardiff while the club seeks a new head coach.
