## Key points

- Newly disclosed documents detail Suh’s guilty plea.
- His girlfriend was hospitalised and miscarried in 2022.
- Sentencing is delayed until January.

## Summary

Newly disclosed court documents reveal Caleb Suh pleaded guilty last month to assault over giving his pregnant girlfriend abortion medication concealed in a protein shake in 2022. The case has drawn attention to his former standing as a West Point cadet and the circumstances surrounding the alleged assault.

The woman, then 19, was hospitalised and miscarried; she had told Suh she wanted to continue the pregnancy, according to the article. A civil lawsuit alleges he obtained medication through an online pharmacy using her identity and disguised it as a pregnancy supplement. Suh is now studying for a master’s degree at Columbia University, and a judge has delayed sentencing until January so he can complete the semester; the civil suit is unanswered.
