Stevie Nicks initially feared releasing “Rhiannon” as a Fleetwood Mac single, worrying that the song might “fall flat” and undermine the mythological character she cherished. Although she wrote it out of admiration for Rhiannon’s story rather than commercial ambition, the track became a defining part of Fleetwood Mac’s sound and legacy.

Released as the third single from Fleetwood Mac’s 1975 album, “Rhiannon” followed “Over My Head” and “Warm Ways”, with “Say You Love Me” later completing the campaign. It reached No. 11 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and No. 4 in Canada, establishing Nicks as a major songwriter within the band.
