## Key points

- South Carolina band Winyah blend Southern rock and folk.
- Their second album has 11 tracks written largely as a group.
- A sold-out Brooklyn Steel show marks their growing reach.

## Summary

Winyah, a five-piece from South Carolina, are building a following with a sound that blends Southern rock and folk. After a debut album, major festival appearances and sold-out New York shows, the band is trying to carry that momentum into its second album, *Right Here, Right Now*.

The 11-track record was released in mid-September and was largely written together on bassist Stephen Russell’s porch during a break in touring in September 2025. The group says it is still learning how to write collaboratively, while keeping its rock-led identity. Winyah report 25 million streams, toured Europe for the first time in October, and have sold out a November show at Brooklyn Steel, which holds 1,800 people.
