## Key points

- The seventh ACOTAR book is due on 12 January 2027.
- Maas wrote it alongside the sixth novel as one story.
- The eighth book will finish the Valkyrie Cycle, but has no date.

## Summary

Sarah J. Maas’s seventh A Court of Thorns and Roses novel, A Court of Forgotten Melody, is scheduled for release on 12 January 2027, just three months after the sixth book. The short gap reflects Maas’s decision to write the two novels as one story before splitting it into separate releases.

The new book will be longer than its predecessor and cover the second and third movements of Maas’s four-part Valkyrie Cycle. She has said the eighth novel will contain the final movement, but had not yet started writing it when the books were announced, so its release date is unknown.
