Discovery's Shark Week returns for its 38th year, kicking off on Sunday 26 July with a special blending K-pop and documentary formats, K-Pop Shark Heroes, featuring Ken Jeong and Rei Ami. Billed as the broadcaster's most extensive schedule yet, the week-long event runs nightly through Saturday 1 August and can be watched live via several streaming services that carry the Discovery channel, giving viewers multiple free-trial routes to watch without a traditional cable subscription.

Programming airs nightly between 8pm and 11pm ET, with three hour-long specials per night except the closing evening on 1 August, which features two specials ending at 10pm ET. Live streams are available through DirecTV (five-day free trial, plans from $19.99 a month), Philo (seven-day free trial, from $25 a month), Sling and Hulu + Live TV, while on-demand content will be available on Discovery+ and HBO Max, with Discovery+ offering a seven-day free trial via Amazon Prime Video.
