Distributed teams struggle to track current files as data grows
The Register is hosting an off-the-record dinner in Soho on 20 October about the challenges of managing files across distributed teams. It will focus on how office-era systems and working habits can leave staff unsure which copy is current, while creating hidden costs and security risks.
The discussion will be chaired by Joe Fay of The Register, with Rupert Watson of LucidLink taking part, and will follow the Chatham House Rule. Topics include unstructured data growth, duplicated storage, syncing and version control, and security incidents; the event is aimed at senior technology, infrastructure and data leaders and will consider modernising existing systems rather than replacing them. Dinner is scheduled for 6.30pm to 9pm at The Soho Hotel, with limited places by invitation.
