- The White House formally confirmed the planned appearance.

## Summary

The White House has confirmed that President Donald Trump will attend Sunday’s FIFA World Cup final at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. The appearance would place the US president at one of the tournament’s most prominent events, which the White House described as “a fitting conclusion”.

Press secretary Karoline Leavitt announced the plans on Thursday. FIFA president Gianni Infantino had previously said on Fox & Friends last month that Trump would attend, but the White House confirmation makes the visit official.
