The White House has launched an interactive “Fraud Ledger” map intended to track an estimated $230 billion in suspected fraud across the United States. The initiative is presented as a way to make alleged misuse of public funds more visible and to support efforts to prevent further losses.

The announcement follows a Justice Department healthcare fraud case involving $6.5 billion in alleged schemes, with suspects accused of spending taxpayer money on luxury property, cars and jewellery. Health and Human Services officials said artificial intelligence could help identify suspicious patterns that older auditing systems struggled to detect, allowing agencies to act more proactively.
