‘White Lotus’ Star Sabrina Impacciatore to Play Tormented Therapist in Prime Video Psychological Thriller With Alessandro Borghi
Italian actress Sabrina Impacciatore, best known internationally for "The White Lotus" Season 2, is to star in a new Prime Video psychological thriller titled "Un'Altra Madre" ("Another Mother") alongside Alessandro Borghi. Announced during Prime Video's Italy upfront presentation in Rome and already in production, the project marks a notable departure from the exuberant, comedic roles for which Impacciatore has recently been known, positioning her in a darker, more tormented register.
Impacciatore plays Olga, a therapist running an exclusive therapeutic community for trauma survivors at a remote countryside farmhouse, alongside her fragile son Lorenzo (Francesco Gheghi), to whom she has an intensely complex bond. The arrival of an enigmatic patient, Tommaso (Borghi), who appears to know long-buried secrets, unravels the group's balance and blurs the line between healing and madness. Directed by Francesco Carrozzini ("Supersex"), the film is produced by Amazon MGM Studios with Italy's Lucky Red and Genesis, and will release worldwide on Prime Video. The announcement came alongside a wider slate of Italian originals, including the Mona Lisa heist film "Masterplan" starring Stanley Tucci (dropping 16 October), the romantic comedy "Blame It on Rome," the "Love Me Love Me" sequels, and the comedy series "Bro."
