The Ronettes hold the distinction of being the only all-female band to have supported The Beatles on tour, a bond formed after the two acts met backstage at London's Palladium in 1963 while The Ronettes were touring with the Rolling Stones and riding high on the success of "Be My Baby". The friendship deepened during Beatlemania, with John Lennon reportedly calling Ronnie Spector for help escaping fan hysteria during a New York visit, and it mattered enough that The Beatles personally invited the group to join their final major US tour.

The Ronettes duly opened for The Beatles during the band's 1966 American tour, a fraught run overshadowed by the "Bigger than Jesus" backlash and a difficult stop in the Philippines. They featured among the support acts, alongside The Remains, Bobby Hebb and The Cyrkle, for the band's return to Shea Stadium, reportedly playing a six-song set in the penultimate slot before The Beatles retired from touring altogether. Despite this high-profile platform and a string of hits, The Ronettes split just months later, in early 1967.
