Glentoran are searching for a new manager after Declan Devine left the east Belfast club by mutual consent just six games into the Irish Premiership season. Devine's two-and-a-half-year spell ended following a difficult start to the campaign, and while he won the County Antrim Shield in 2024-25, he could not end Glentoran's 17-year wait for a league title, leaving the club needing a successor who can quickly stabilise results.

BBC Sport NI has identified several possible candidates. Tiernan Lynch, 50, the early favourite, won back-to-back Premiership titles with Larne and has prior Glentoran experience as assistant manager, though his more recent spell at Derry City ended after less than two years. Rodney McAree, who previously led Glentoran to European football before joining Dungannon Swifts, and Cliftonville's Jim Magilton, 57, who has delivered cup success since 2023, are also mentioned, alongside Gary Hamilton, 45, a former Glentoran player and ex-Glenavon boss with two Irish Cup wins, currently managing Ballymacash Rangers.
