The first trailer for Wicker introduces an eccentric comic fable in which Olivia Colman’s isolated fisherwoman commissions a husband made of wicker. The arrival of the unusually impressive creation, played by Alexander Skarsgård, disrupts village life through jealousy, fascination and sexual innuendo, making the film a deliberately surreal romantic comedy.

Peter Dinklage plays the basketmaker who creates the husband, while Elizabeth Debicki also features. Written and directed by Alex Huston Fischer and Eleanor Wilson, Wicker premiered at Sundance in January; Black Bear will release it in North American cinemas on 23 October in limited release, expanding widely a week later.
