Widow’s Bay: A 9-Page Monologue Became a Memory Nightmare | Set Stories

Actor Dale Dickey has spoken about developing her character Rosemary in the new drama Widow's Bay, revealing how filming out of sequence and with limited backstory shaped her approach. In an exclusive interview with Collider, Dickey explained that she initially understood Rosemary as someone aware of the island's curse and unafraid to provoke the mayor, giving the character a sardonic, sharp-edged surface.

Dickey said it was Rosemary's scenes opposite the character Patricia that revealed a more personal, protective side beneath that humour, helping her round out the role despite the challenges of shooting without a clear chronological arc. The interview, part of Collider's "Set Stories" video series, was published on 21 August 2026.
