Fox News · 2 hours ago

Rep. Maggie Goodlander, a New Hampshire Democrat married to former Biden national security adviser Jake Sullivan, comfortably won her primary and will now face a Republican challenger in November's general election. The result sets up a contest in a district that has reliably backed Democrats for over a decade, in a state where Republicans have nonetheless dominated the governor's office.

Goodlander, who first won the seat in 2024 succeeding retiring Rep. Ann Kuster, saw off a primary challenge from state Rep. Paige Beauchemin, who attacked her from the left over her record in her first term. She will face Lily Tang Williams, winner of a four-way Republican primary, in a district covering the western half of New Hampshire. The race comes amid a broader reshuffle of the state's politics, with neighbouring Rep. Chris Pappas vacating his House seat to run for the Senate seat being left by Jeanne Shaheen.
