Will Ospreay retained the AEW World Championship by defeating Jon Moxley at All Out, winning his first title defence. The result appeared to close his turbulent association and rivalry with Moxley’s Death Riders, after Ospreay had trained with the faction and later split from them.

Moxley targeted Ospreay’s neck and used a briefcase to strike him, while other Death Riders interfered; Andrade El Idolo, Mike Bailey and Alex Windsor helped Ospreay even the odds. Ospreay finished Moxley with a Hidden Blade, and the two shook hands afterwards. In the post-event media scrum, Ospreay called for Kazuchika Okada to challenge him; the article says Okada accepted and the match was set for Grand Slam France on 6 October.
