Wilmer Valderrama to Be Honored at This Is About Humanity Annual Soirée
Wilmer Valderrama will receive This Is About Humanity’s Humanitarian Award at the organisation’s eighth annual summer soirée in Los Angeles on 29 August. The award recognises his advocacy for families separated and reunited at the US–Mexico border, highlighting celebrity support for immigration and family-reunification causes.
The event will raise funds for This Is About Humanity’s work through the International Community Foundation, programmes with the Immigrant Defenders Law Center and a border food-relief kitchen. Valderrama has also co-founded the social-justice nonprofit Harness, serves on Voto Latino’s board and is a spokesperson for the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute.
