Winnie the Pooh Celebrates 100 Years With $500 Cashmere Sweaters
Winnie the Pooh's 100th anniversary is being marked with a high-fashion twist, as Los Angeles label Re/Done has launched a four-piece capsule collection with Disney reimagining the honey-loving bear and his Hundred Acre Wood friends. Released on 3 September, the range applies Re/Done's vintage-inspired denim-brand aesthetic to characters first created by A.A. Milne in 1926, forming part of a wider year-long centenary celebration by Disney.
The collection features the £160-equivalent Classic Tee Pooh Friends and 50s Boxy Tee Oh Bother, alongside the pricier Silly Bear Cardigan ($495) and Storybook Crew ($550), with Pooh, Piglet, Tigger and Eeyore depicted in storybook-style artwork. It follows earlier Re/Done-Disney collaborations, including a 1920s-themed Mickey & Friends line and a Golden Age-inspired collection featuring Dumbo, Bambi and Pinocchio, as well as a tie-in with "The Devil Wears Prada 2". The Pooh centenary is also being marked through publishing, with Random House's "Wonders of the Hundred-Acre Wood Treasury" already out, "Winnie the Pooh: 100 Mindful Moments" due on 22 September, and Penguin Random House hosting anniversary events including one at the New York Public Library on 10 October.
