Wisin Launches ‘Universidad del Perreo’ & Signs New Management: ‘The Music Speaks’

Billboard · 7 hours ago

Reggaetón star Wisin has launched "Universidad del Perreo", a 12-track album released through his own label, La Base Music Group, paired with an unconventional marketing campaign built around a fictional "university" concept. The project brings together prominent genre figures including Ivy Queen, Don Chezina, Jory Boy, Jowell & Randy, Trébol Clan and others, while positioning Colombian artist Kapo as its first "graduate", and is framed by Wisin as both a tribute to reggaetón's roots and a platform to mentor emerging artists in songwriting, production and the music business.

The accompanying website drew more than two million registered subscribers ahead of the album's release, and organisers plan in-person courses and masterclasses in cities including Puerto Rico, Miami, Bogotá and Mexico City. Alongside the album launch, Wisin announced a new management arrangement, signing directly with D27 Entertainment, a company founded by his long-time manager Chris Duque, who previously operated under Walter Kolm for nearly a decade; Duque now manages Wisin's career independently.
