With Their Debut, AND2BLE Wants to Take You Back to the 2010s

Billboard · 3 hours ago

AND2BLE, a new five-member South Korean boy group formed under YH Entertainment, has debuted with an EP that deliberately harks back to the sound of "third-generation" K-pop from the 2010s, prioritising vocal-driven, expensive-sounding pop over the more theatrical style of recent releases. The group is notable because its members—Zhang Hao, Ricky, Kim Gyuvin, Han Yujin and Yoo Seungeon—are not newcomers to the industry: all previously competed on the survival show Boys Planet and went on to debut in other acts, ZEROBASEONE and EVNNE, before regrouping as AND2BLE once those earlier projects ended.

Their debut release, Sequence 01: Curiosity, is a five-track EP lasting around 14 minutes, led by the synth-pop and future-house title track "Curious". Other songs include the softer, R&B-tinged "Aura" and the upbeat "Sugar Rush", with each member's distinct vocal style—from Seungeon's high-register power to Ricky's smoother delivery—used to differentiate the tracks, while lyrically the record frames the group's fresh start after their previous projects concluded.
