Woman, 53, is arrested after £10million worth of cocaine is seized by police in Liverpool

Daily Mail · 1 month ago

Merseyside Police have arrested a 53-year-old woman after seizing more than 100kg of cocaine, with an estimated street value of £10 million, during a raid on a property in the Old Swan area of Liverpool on Wednesday. The bust formed part of Project Medusa, an investigation targeting county lines drug networks and child criminal exploitation, and highlights the scale of organised drug supply the force is seeking to disrupt.

The woman was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and remains in custody for questioning. The seizure came a day after officers recovered around 38kg of cocaine, worth an estimated £2.6 million, from shopping bags in a grey Volkswagen van stopped on Bridge Road in Roby; a 40-year-old man was arrested over that find. Detective Inspector Gary Stratton described it as the second Class A drugs seizure in Merseyside that week and warned of the damage organised crime does to communities.
