Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, the woman accused of firing at Rihanna’s Los Angeles home, has been deemed mentally competent to stand trial. The ruling by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Maria Cavalluzzi follows a competency evaluation that delayed the case for more than four months; Ortiz has pleaded not guilty.

Police say Ortiz fired a semiautomatic rifle on 8 March while Rihanna and A$AP Rocky were at home. No one was injured, but the charges relate to Rihanna’s house, a trailer she was inside, a neighbour’s property and 10 people, including family and staff. If convicted, Ortiz could face life in prison.
