A 67-year-old woman has drowned in Felanitx, south-east Majorca, after slipping in a flooded street and becoming trapped beneath a car during flash flooding. The tragedy occurred amid severe storms that prompted a red alert across the island, highlighting the dangers posed by sudden, intense flooding in populated areas. The woman is believed to have fallen under the vehicle as fast-moving water, reportedly around "two hand spans" deep, swept through the street on Wednesday afternoon, leaving her unable to free herself.
