## Summary

A woman was carried towards a truck during an attempted kidnapping in a Honolulu condominium car park, before neighbours intervened and she escaped. The incident, captured on surveillance footage, has led to a 23-year-old man being charged with kidnapping and second-degree assault.

Police say the attack happened around midday on Monday, when the man approached the 24-year-old woman and her 77-year-old friend. Prosecutors said he carried the younger woman 35 feet and released her about four feet from his truck after bystanders stepped in. He was arrested about three hours later, charged and held on $500,000 bond; his next court appearance is scheduled for Monday.
