Marvel announced in March that Wonder Man would return for a second season, only to reverse the decision on 30 July. Guest said the writers' room was due to start this month and production was set to begin early next year, with the first episode already completed and an outline for the rest of the season drafted, before executives at Disney and Marvel decided internally that continuing "didn't make sense." Cast member Arian Moayed and star Yahya Abdul-Mateen II have also spoken out, expressing disappointment; the first season had received strong reviews, scoring 91% with critics and 87% with audiences on Rotten Tomatoes.
