## Key points

- Virat Kohli survived an umpire review then was dismissed by the very next delivery during England v India 2nd ODI in Cardiff
- Jofra Archer and Adil Rashid combined to secure the breakthrough dismissal

## Summary

During the second one-day international between England and India in Cardiff, Virat Kohli narrowly avoided dismissal when an umpire review cleared him from what appeared to be an early exit. His reprieve proved fleeting, however, as England's bowlers struck immediately with the following delivery, with Kohli caught out to end his innings and give the hosts a crucial breakthrough in the match.

The rapid dismissal sequence highlighted the intensity of the contest and exemplified how the tide of a cricket match can turn in seconds. The successful combination of Jofra Archer and Adil Rashid's bowling provided England with significant momentum at a pivotal moment in the fixture.
