Wrexham have signed Issa Kabore and Jacques Ekomie on permanent deals, with manager Phil Parkinson calling them important additions after George Thomason suffered a thigh injury that will keep him out for around 10 weeks. The signings strengthen the club’s wing-back options before Friday’s Championship match against Birmingham City, particularly on the left where injuries have reduced available cover.

Thomason had been filling in at left wing-back while Liberato Cacace recovers, leaving Ryan Longman as the only other natural option. Kabore can also play on the left, while Ekomie joins after Wrexham faced competition for his signature; they are the club’s fourth and fifth arrivals of the transfer window. Wrexham may still seek a forward and midfielder before the 23:00 BST deadline on Tuesday, 1 September.
