Sequel to Wuchang: Fallen Feathers announced from director’s new studio Indolphinity
Developing story first seen 6 hours ago
Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is getting a sequel, and in a fresh development, it has now been confirmed that the follow-up will not be made by original developer Lenzee but by Indolphinity, a newly formed studio led by the first game's director, Xia Siyuan. The sequel will again be published by 505 Games, whose parent company Digital Bros bought the Wuchang IP from Lenzee for around €4.6 million in April. This matters because Siyuan's reported departure from Lenzee earlier this year had made a follow-up look unlikely, and the arrangement signals both publisher confidence in the franchise and a deliberate effort to keep creative control within the original Chinese team.
Indolphinity, formally the Chengdu Recursive Dolphin Technology Company, has now issued a joint press release with 505 Games detailing the plans, though no release date or platforms have been given. Siyuan described the sequel as "an entirely new chapter" rooted in "Eastern soil", while Digital Bros co-CEO Raffi Galante said the publisher wants to "safeguard and amplify the original creative vision" and keep the series' "creative heart" in China. The original Fallen Feathers, a soulslike praised for its level design despite rocky PC performance and a controversial patch altering content for Chinese audiences, remains the basis for the new entry.
