Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, the Chinese soulslike, is getting a sequel that will be developed not by original studio Lenzee but by Indolphinity, a new studio founded by Xia Siyuan, the first game's director. The sequel will again be published by 505 Games, whose parent company Digital Bros bought the Wuchang IP from Lenzee for around €4.6 million in April; the move confirms a follow-up that had looked uncertain after Siyuan's reported departure from Lenzee earlier this year, and signals both publisher confidence in the franchise and an effort to keep creative control with the original Chinese team behind it.

The plans were confirmed via a joint press release from Indolphinity, formally named the Chengdu Recursive Dolphin Technology Company, and 505 Games, though no release date or platforms were given. Siyuan described the follow-up only as "an entirely new chapter of Wuchang's story that is deeply rooted in the Eastern soil", while Digital Bros co-CEO Raffi Galante said the publisher wants to "safeguard and amplify the original creative vision" and keep the series' "creative heart in China". The original game, despite rocky PC performance and a controversial patch altering content for Mainland Chinese audiences, was praised by RPS for its level design.
