## Key points

- Crown Jewel is still scheduled to take place in Saudi Arabia.
- WWE moved the show indoors because of the regional war.
- WrestleMania could move cities, but TKO says it will go ahead.

## Summary

WWE’s Crown Jewel event in Saudi Arabia is set to go ahead on Saturday despite the war in neighbouring Iran, according to TKO president and COO Mark Shapiro. The decision matters because other cultural and entertainment events in Saudi Arabia have been cancelled amid the fighting, and WWE’s larger WrestleMania event is also planned there next April.

Shapiro said the chance of Crown Jewel being cancelled was “extremely minimal”; the show has been moved from an outdoor stadium to an indoor arena. He said WWE’s two earlier Saudi events this year ran without disruption. WrestleMania could be moved if needed, but Shapiro said it would not be cancelled: Saudi partners have paid half the fee upfront, and TKO is identifying mainly US cities as possible back-up hosts.
