‘X-Men’ Officially Reveals New Emma Frost Replacement

Collider · 7 hours ago

Marvel is set to bring Spider-Man's Black Cat, Felicia Hardy, into the X-Men and grant her mutant powers for the first time, according to a report from AIPT Comics. The change, arriving in Black Cat #17 in December, marks a notable crossover between the Spider-Man and X-Men franchises and follows a pattern of characters shifting between Marvel's sub-universes, such as Kamala Khan, Scarlet Witch and Namor previously doing so.

The issue is written by G. Willow Wilson and illustrated by Gleb Melnikov, and will see Felicia's look change to brunette hair and a silver mask. Emma Frost will appear in the same issue and reportedly plays a key role in triggering Felicia's transformation, with the official solicitation describing an encounter between the two that leaves Felicia "mutated." Other characters featured on the cover include Kid Omega, Xorn and Beast, though exactly how Felicia gains her powers has not yet been revealed. In the meantime, Black Cat #14 releases this week, continuing a storyline that has already taken the character across the Marvel universe, including encounters with Hela, the Kree Empire and Venom's symbiote species.

  • Black Cat, Felicia Hardy, is becoming a mutant and joining the X-Men.
  • Change debuts in Black Cat #17, out in December, by G. Willow Wilson.
  • Emma Frost's encounter with Felicia reportedly causes her mutation.
