‘X-Men’s Christopher Abbott Admits He “Hasn’t Read Anything” Yet But “Can’t Wait” To Play Professor X

Christopher Abbott says he is excited to play Professor X in Marvel Studios’ upcoming X-Men film, despite not having read a script or other material yet. His comments suggest he is looking forward to working with director Jake Schreier and the assembled cast.

Abbott was announced for the role in August, taking over as Charles Xavier after Patrick Stewart and James McAvoy. The cast also includes Adam Driver, Inde Navarrette, Maya Boyd, Kit Connor, Sadie Sink, Samara Weaving and Asa Germann; the film is scheduled to open in cinemas on 5 May 2028, with Lee Sung Jin and Joanna Calo writing the script.
