Xiaomi has launched the 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max in China, introducing more adaptable hardware-based privacy displays than Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra. The phones can apply privacy mode selectively to apps, notifications, floating windows and split-screen views, while location triggers and selfie-camera detection can automate activation. Their confirmed international release later this year is notable because the previous 17 Pro models were not sold globally.

The Pro has a 6.4-inch display and 7,000mAh battery, while the Pro Max offers a 6.9-inch screen and 8,500mAh battery. Both feature rear companion screens, dual 200-megapixel cameras, a 50-megapixel ultrawide and Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 processors, with the Pro Max using the slightly faster Extreme version. Prices start at ¥5,999, roughly $900, and Xiaomi is expected to launch standard and Ultra models later.
