- Gomez continues to advocate for Latino representation in Hollywood.

## Summary

Xochitl Gomez has landed her first voiceover role, playing Gabby, the older sister in the new animated film The Cat in the Hat. She says the part matters to her because it puts a Latino family at the centre of the story, while adding a new kind of work to a career that has included Marvel acting and a Dancing with the Stars victory.

Gomez was the first member of the film’s family cast after a three-hour scratch session and several months of waiting. The 20-year-old says her television dance win expanded her fan base and gave her a chance to share her culture, including her quinceañera; she has also called for more Latino representation in Hollywood through an open letter seeking more Latino voices in greenlighting and leading roles.
