## Key points

- Shelley Duncan is reportedly joining Boston’s major league staff.
- He managed the Yankees’ Triple-A team for four seasons.
- Duncan was named International Manager of the Year in 2025.

## Summary

Shelley Duncan is reportedly joining the Boston Red Sox’s major league coaching staff under manager Chad Tracy, moving from the Yankees’ Triple-A affiliate to one of their longstanding rivals. The appointment links a coach with a long history in the Yankees organisation to its major league competitor.

Duncan, 47, managed Scranton/Wilkes-Barre for four seasons, taking charge before the 2023 campaign and earning International Manager of the Year in 2025. A former Yankees second-round draft pick in 2001, he played three of his seven major league seasons with the club and later coached or managed in the Diamondbacks, Blue Jays and White Sox organisations. His father is former pitching coach Dave Duncan; his brother Chris played five seasons in the majors for St Louis.
