Yash’s ‘Toxic’ Unveils English-Language Trailer
Prime Media Studios has acquired North American distribution rights to "Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups", the Geetu Mohandas-directed action thriller starring Kannada superstar Yash, and released its English-language trailer ahead of a coordinated global release on 26 August. This marks the first extended English-language footage from a film shot simultaneously in English and Kannada, underlining the growing ambition of Indian filmmakers to reach international audiences with big-budget, genre-driven productions.
Set in a fictionalised Goa during the final years of Portuguese colonial rule, the film follows themes of power and betrayal, with Yash playing a dual role as Raya and Ticket. The supporting cast includes Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Rukmini Vasanth and Huma Qureshi, while action sequences were choreographed by Hollywood stunt coordinator J.J. Perry, known for his work on the "John Wick" and "Fast & Furious" franchises. Yash also co-wrote and produced the film through his own Monster Mind Creations, alongside Venkat K. Narayana's KVN Productions, and the release will span six languages, with North American cinemas showing English and Kannada versions.
