## Key points

- Yaxel Lendeborg’s candid comments have made him a standout rookie.
- He criticised Luka Dončić after the Warriors’ opening loss.
- His 12-for-13 free-throw game against Denver added to the buzz.

## Summary

Yaxel Lendeborg has become one of the NBA’s most talked-about rookies through outspoken comments and clashes with established stars. The 24-year-old Golden State Warriors forward is also seen as a potential Rookie of the Year and a promising addition to a team trying to make the most of Stephen Curry’s later seasons.

Lendeborg drew attention after criticising Luka Dončić’s foul-drawing during the Warriors’ season-opening loss to the Los Angeles Lakers, though he later said he had gone too far. Against Denver, he took 13 free throws and made 12, then spoke openly about wanting to improve further. The article contrasts his candid style with the more cautious comments often heard from NBA players.
