Australian financial influencer Natasha Etschmann, known online as Tash Invests, says she grew an initial $1,000 investment into a portfolio worth more than $1 million over about a decade. Her account highlights the value of regular, long-term investing over chasing market trends, although the outcome also reflects her multiple jobs and two Perth properties.

Etschmann began investing around 2016 and later shared her finances publicly while working as a disability support worker. She says she now automatically sets aside A$400 a week and invests A$1,200 at a time in exchange-traded funds, while keeping about A$20,000 in cryptocurrency as a small speculative holding; she advises investors to tolerate market swings and avoid reacting hastily to events or policy changes.
