Young Thug’s YSL Records Surprise-Drops ‘Slime Language 3’ Double Album

Billboard · 3 hours ago

Young Thug’s YSL Records has surprise-released Slime Language 3, a 41-track double compilation featuring the label’s established artists and newer acts alongside high-profile guests. The release continues YSL’s Slime Language series and matters because its predecessors achieved major chart success, making the album a significant test of the label’s standing following Young Thug’s legal case and subsequent return to music.

The album runs for more than two hours and includes appearances from Lil Baby, Travis Scott, Future, Yeat, Trippie Redd, Cash Cobain, Veeze and Rob49. It follows 2018’s Slime Language, which debuted at number eight on the Billboard 200, and 2021’s chart-topping Slime Language 2; unlike the previous instalment, however, it does not feature Gunna, whose relationship with Young Thug reportedly deteriorated amid the YSL RICO case.

YSL Records is the Atlanta-based label and music collective founded by rapper Young Thug. Its Slime Language albums bring together songs by artists signed to or associated with the label, often with guest performers from elsewhere in hip-hop.

Young Thug has been one of the label’s most prominent figures, while artists including Gunna and Lil Keed helped raise its profile. The label has also been linked to a long-running criminal case in Georgia involving alleged gang activity; Young Thug returned to making music after reaching a plea deal in 2024.
