Working Title Films has enlisted Stephanie Laing, the two-time Emmy-winning director of Apple TV's "Your Friends & Neighbors" and the acclaimed drama "Tow", to direct the romantic comedy "Runaway Wedding". The project marks another high-profile assignment for Laing, whose stock has risen sharply following her recent television and film work, and reunites her with Working Title, the British studio behind numerous successful rom-coms.

The film follows underage lovers Matt and Anna, who elope against their parents' wishes, only for the pursuing parents to unexpectedly fall for each other during the chase. Laing will direct from a script by Adam Brooks, known for Working Title titles "Definitely, Maybe" and "Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason", with Liza Chasin of 3dot Productions producing. Laing, repped by CAA and Linden Entertainment, is also an executive producer on the third season of "Your Friends & Neighbors" and has recently worked on Apple series including "Physical", "Palm Royale" and "Stick".
