- The article connects music to his journey of faith.

## Summary

Yusuf, formerly known as Cat Stevens, has named 16 of his favourite albums, reflecting the wide range of music that shaped his listening. The choices offer a glimpse into the influences of an artist whose own songs became central to the singer-songwriter sound of the late 1960s and 1970s.

The article links Yusuf’s musical outlook to his spiritual journey: after converting to Islam in 1977, he stepped away from his career and focused on his faith, later returning to music with a renewed sense of its purpose. He has spoken of enjoying Armenian and Slavic choral music, Holst’s *The Planets*, and records that connected music with faith and human struggle; the supplied text does not include the 16 album titles.
