## Summary

The keeper, who was in her fifties, has died in hospital, days after a leopard mauled her at a Dutch safari park. The park says an independent investigation will examine how the incident happened.

She had worked at Safaripark Beekse Bergen for nearly 40 years and was caring for two male Persian leopards indoors on Saturday during bad weather. Colleagues found her after she called for help over her radio; she suffered severe head and neck injuries and underwent emergency surgery. The park said the leopards would not be put down, and it remains unclear which animal was involved.
