Necessary always onThese make the site work: your login, your communities, the choices you make on this banner, and the security checks that keep bots out. They cannot be switched off. FunctionalRemembering things you set so the site is the same when you come back: stories you have read, drafts you are writing, the panels you keep open and your theme. AnalyticsCounting visits and seeing which parts of the site people cannot make sense of. None of it is used for advertising, and nobody is looked up individually. Until you answer, Google Analytics receives only cookieless pings that cannot identify you (Google calls this Consent Mode); it sets its cookies and counts you properly only if you accept.
