GODSMACK Teams Up With SUMERIAN COMICS For New Graphic Novel ‘Awake’
Sumerian Comics has partnered with hard rock band Godsmack to release "Godsmack: Awake", an original graphic novel inspired by the band's breakthrough 2000 album of the same name. The 96-page hardcover reimagines the record as a dark supernatural story about memory, guilt and violence, giving fans a new way to engage with the album's themes 26 years after its release, and pre-orders are open now through Sumerian Comics.
The story follows Sevrin, who wakes in the Massachusetts dunes with no memory of how he got there, and relives violent deaths from different eras as Halloween night unfolds, forcing him to confront whether he can break free from his mistakes. It is written by Jonathan Hedrick, illustrated by Giusi Lo Piccolo, coloured by Simone D'Angelo and lettered by Toni Sardina, and is available in five pre-order tiers ranging from $40 for the standard hardcover to a $250 limited edition of 50 copies with a Sully Erna-signed bookplate. The release coincides with Godsmack's recent reissue of "Awake", their new live album "Live At Mohegan Sun", and their ongoing "The Rise Of The Rock" world tour with Stone Temple Pilots and Dorothy.
