"Article 370", starring Yami Gautam, has won best feature film at India's 72nd National Film Awards, announced in New Delhi by the country's Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. Gautam also claimed best actress for her role in the political drama, which centres on the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir and was produced by Jio Studios and B62 Studios.

The best actor prize was shared between Mammootty for the Malayalam film "Bramayugam" and Kartik Aaryan for Bollywood's "Chandu Champion". Rajkumar Periasamy won best director for "Amaran", while Randeep Hooda took best debut director for "Swatantrya Veer Savarkar". Numerous other awards were handed out across categories including supporting acting, cinematography, screenplay, music and regional-language films, with "Kalki 2898 AD" named best popular film and "Captain Miller" recognised for promoting social values.
